Here at JDC we are known for being a leading UK independent corporate finance firm advising businesses and owners on buying and selling businesses, management buy outs, raising debt & equity finance and business growth and we thought it would be interesting to give you a little insight on the people behind the firm.
Today, we’re learning more about Josh Cadwallader, Accounts Executive
Q: What is your role at JDC?
A: I’m based in the general practice team so I work predominantly with our recurring client base to fulfil their financial reporting and tax compliance requirements. I also provide ongoing support with management accounting, forecasting and any other individual projects required.
More recently, I have become involved in supporting the forensic and legal services offered by JDC’s sister company Walton Dodge Forensics.
Q: How long have you been with the firm?
A: Seven months, I joined in October last year.
Q: On a normal day, what does your role involve?
A: I’m largely based in the Norwich office (or in my spare bedroom as things stand), but my work can vary a great deal day to day. I’m heavily involved in the annual compliance and business advisory work that we offer, so producing company accounts, tax and remuneration planning, report writing and then quite a bit of time on the phone or in meetings with our clients.
I also work to support the forensic accounting team, which can involve financial analysis, company valuations and drafting legal reports.
Away from the office, I will regularly visit clients at their own premises across East Anglia, both for meetings and to provide working support and training onsite.
Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: Having the opportunity to work with such a wide variety of businesses across multiple sectors. In the short time I’ve been with JDC, I’ve already become familiar with a lot the people behind these businesses and to be able to help them with support and advice when they need it is a really good feeling.
Q: What are you most proud of from your time at JDC?
A: I still feel quite new in my JDC career, so actually it’s probably being invited to join the firm in the first place.
Q: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
A: I’d love to be multilingual. An awful lot of time and effort has gone into the very limited language skills I do possess.
Q: Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
A: I used to be a chef so I’m not a bad cook. I wouldn’t say it’s a hidden talent though, I do like to tell people.
Q: What is the best concert you’ve ever attended?
A: The Prodigy.
Q: What is the last book you read?
A: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.
Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
