Today, we’re learning more about Jo Price, Corporate Finance Senior Manager
Q: What is your role at JDC?
A: I support local business owners by managing a range of transactions including sales, acquisitions, MBOs and refinancing. I also carry out the occasional financial due diligence for buyers/funders, and in recent months I have used my restructuring experience to support local businesses forecast and manage cash.
Q: How long have you been with the firm?
A: I joined JDC in November 2018 – so 1 year and 5 months now.
Q: On a normal day, what does your role involve?
A: A typical day will usually involve a mix of office based work with the team and time out of the office with clients or networking with local professionals. I spend most of my time in Norfolk but have spent time in wider East Anglia and London in the last year.
My role on a transaction will involve desktop work (e.g. preparing the Information Memorandum/Business Plan or project managing due diligence), calls and meetings with all the parties involved and internal discussions with the JDC team. I also help manage our social media campaigns and make the occasional tea round!
I work three days a week, so on the other two days my role is very different and includes Disney princesses, Bing, play dates and cold cups of tea!
Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: Working with a wide range of businesses, learning about different industries and processes and meeting new people.
Q: What are you most proud of from your time at JDC?
A: Getting JDC Corporate Finance on Twitter!
Q: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
A: I always wanted to be an air hostess when I grew up and whilst I do still love to travel, I’d settle for speaking more languages.
Q: Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
A: I can play the flute – I got to Grade 5.
Q: What is the best concert you’ve ever attended?
A: Wicked.
Q: What is the last book you read?
A: The Paris Seamstress by Natasha Lest.
Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
